A Couple of Gripes Re: the Industry:

That beautiful  ARF kit arrives. It’s just about perfect. Then you are disappointed to see that on the electronics they have attached those cheap Dean knock-off plugs. You can easily recognize them. They are darker in color than a genuine Dean. I always cut  ‘em lose and replace with real Deans or bullet connectors. But should we really have to do that?

 

You open that little plastic bag with the goody in it that is supposed to save your airplane from any potential mishap, but not a line of instructions  as to how to use it or install it.

 

The continuing effort on the part of manufacturers and distributors to prioritize their equipment so that  the modeler is stuck with their particular brand really bugs me. More standardization, please.

 

And I really don’t understand why a customer should have to pay shipping to return a defective product, and sometimes even shipping on the replacement.

 

Now tell me,  when are those oriental kit  manufacturers going to start hiring translators who have  actually mastered the English language to write their manuals? I mean, don’t you just love instruction lines  like this:

 

“Mixing functionality for fixed wing’s first and second channel and mixing functionality for the flying wing model’s aileron up and down.”  

 

They could at least  offer the manual to an English-writing person for editing before printing. My services are available–for a fee, of course.

 

On a distributor’s website: “Out of stock. Out of stock. Out of Stock, O...
