Here’s what you need to do: First, go to Hobby Lobby.com and look under Ready-to-Fly Airplanes and purchase a kit they  call The Wing-Dragon-HL. See the photo enclosed. While there, buy the biggest container of  5-Minute Epoxy glue they offer, maybe two containers LOL.  The Wing-Dragon is a foam-winged airplane so it is easy to repair when you have those inevitable mishaps. That’s what the 5-minute epoxy is for–repair in five minutes. The Wing-Dragon comes with everything you need to get in the air including a transmitter, receiver, battery. charger, and an electronic speed controller. And you can put it together in an hour or two. But I do recommend that you also order a 7”x5” APC electric propeller. More on the reason why later.
I’ve included a bunch of photos and a few tips (not that you really need them) on putting it together and a few pointers that may help you with your first flight. . But
before we get into that there is something else that is a must purchase if you are going to learn to fly on your own and that ‘s  an RC flight simulator. Flight simulators can get pretty expensive–over 200 bucks. Now, Jake,  don’t give me that  “...same ol’ shack ... “ talk. I happen to know you can afford it. But,  if you just must be your  ‘ol Cheap A.. Self, you can purchase the  Real Flight Basic model that will cost you only $100. It offers everything you need to get started.  It has 47 different airplanes to choose from and a bunch of different simulated flying fields. There are a lot expansion upgrades that you can add later if  you enjoy playing with it. Check it out at  RealFlight.com or Great Planes.
If a flight simulator is good enough for jet pilots, it should be good enough for you. Trust me, you can definitely learn to fly on this simulator. Spend a few hours on it and you will  find your maiden flight (Jake, don’t ya love that–”maiden flight.”   LOL.) of the Wing- Dragon just a piece of cake. The  Wing Dragon already knows how to fly. All you have to do is learn how to tell it what to do.
As you can see In the photo below, the Real Flight Basic comes with its own transmitter, a CD and manual.
